Amazing 31% Body Fat Reduction in 8 Weeks

Raise human growth hormone 770%, reduce body fat 31%, increase your mitochondria 100% & maybe reduce a few wrinkles in as few as 8 weeks .

HGH or human growth hormone is a peptide hormone produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. A non-steroidal hormone, it regenerates tissues for growth and repair of many cells in the body. What happens when your HGH levels are low… erratic sleep patterns, bone loss, increased body fat, decreased muscle mass, strength, and mental function.

According to the Life Extension Foundation, HGH or human growth hormone declines by 50 percent every seven years after the ages of 18 to 25. What if I told you, you could raise human growth hormone 770%, reduce body fat 31%, increase your mitochondria 100%, and maybe even reduce a few wrinkles in as few as 8 weeks by exercising one hour per week?

Well, a small but impressive study was done with middle age hospital employees in rural Mississippi. They didn’t even ask participants to change their diet and yet with as little as one hour per week, “exercise induced” growth hormone was raised 770% in 8 weeks.

Think of your lean muscle mass as a furnace that burns fats, carbohydrates and to a lesser degree protein. As we age our lean muscle mass shrinks. That means our ability to burn fuel also shrinks. We can modify our diet but ultimately we have to find a way to increase the size of the furnace if we want long term weight loss.

Exercise physiologist, Phil Campbell explains how to dramatically increase lean muscle mass with as little as one hour of exercise per week with no changes in diet. His method is called Sprint 8. Here’s how it works. Begin with a 3 minute, fast paced warm up. After your muscles are warmed up, expend 30 seconds in an “all-out” fast-fiber recruiting exercise. Campbell calls it “a type of anaerobic cardio sprint.” By the end of the 30 second sprint you should be praying you can finish strong. This all-out sprint is followed by a 90 second recovery period which is equal to the intensity of walking. The 30 second sprint plus the 90 second recovery totals 2 minutes.

The program is called Sprint 8 because you work up to doing 8 of these cycles. 8 cycles lasts 20 minutes (including 3 minute warm up and 1 minute cool down). To achieve the increased growth hormone levels of 770% participants in the study averaged 3 sessions per week, which comes out to one hour.

Researchers told the subjects to start with 2 sprint cycles and work up to 8. According to Campbell if you think you can do more than 8, you are not doing them correctly. Sprint 8 can be done with cycling, swimming, skiing, running, cross-country skiing, elliptical equipment, power walking even weight training. Any type of exercise that involves large muscles like the legs and has a 30 second “all out “sprint component qualifies. Keep in mind the benefits of increasing growth hormone: a reduction in adipose fat, increases in oxygen utilization, muscle strength, as well as muscle growth and repair. It also increases calcium retention and mineralization of the bone which is very important for osteoporosis patients.

One of the things you can do to enhance the benefits of growth hormone is to eat about 25 grams of protein after the workout. Be sure not to dampen the growth hormone spike by consuming refined sugar drinks which will raise insulin levels.

Campbell’s book Ready Set Go! Synergy Fitness for Time-Crunched Adults details more about the benefits of growth hormone. You can also watch the Sprint 8 workout videos online.

For me this exercise concept is life giving. There are so many people who are metabolically stuck. Sprint 8 can be a way to turn your metabolism around. Some people may not be ready for the full version of Sprint 8 but give it a try. A one hour per week method that causes a 770 % increase in human growth hormone and 31% reduction in body fat in 8 weeks is very impressive.

Your Medication Could Be Depleting Vital Nutrients

“Many prescription drugs can reduce absorption and cause depletion of vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes crucial for good health.

If you take prescription drugs, here are some nutritional facts especially for YOU. Many people who are on prescription drugs, as well as many doctors and pharmacist who administer them, don’t understand that some medications can reduce absorption and even cause depletion of vitamins, minerals, and  electrolytes crucial for good health.Dr. Jason Godo DC

Well Dr. Godo, I take prescription drugs, but I take vitamins, should I be concerned? With certain drugs I’d be concerned. Simply put, many drugs while intended to help people, deplete crucial nutrients in the body. Over time, if you don’t replenish the body, nutrients become seriously depleted and can cause a downhill slide to further health problems.

You may have heard that statin drugs deplete CoQ10. But did you know that statin drugs directly or indirectly deplete nutrients like beta-carotene, B vitamins, magnesium, calcium, folic acid, phosphorous, vitamin A, B12, vitamin E, vitamin K, zinc and vitamin D? Coenzyme Q10 is famous for its role in the mitochondria and for energy production. But minerals and vitamins are necessary for energy production as well, especially magnesium, which is deficient in most Americans and is a major influence on heart function. Think about it, you take statin drugs to reduce cholesterol; but in doing so, you deplete the nutrients that are needed for healthy muscle function. Hmmmm, isn’t the heart a muscle? What could possibly go wrong?

Another group of nutrient depletions are caused by diuretics. It makes sense that diuretics as a group will deplete minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium as forced increased urination is the goal of the drug. Increase urination and you will have a loss of minerals, probably all minerals. However, an important nutrient lost with diuretics is B1. Thiamin (B1) is essential for healthy sugar metabolism. Many people are not aware that B1 is a huge deficiency and should be supplemented with anyone who is taking diuretics.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs are another class of drugs that cause stomach bleeding. In fact over 16,000 people die every year from NSAID use.

Some gastroenterologists are aware of this phenomenon and routinely use a natural supplement by Biotics Research Corporation called Gastrazyme. Gastrazyme supports healing of the GI tract when you are taking NSAIDs for pain. If you take NSAIDs, ask Dr. Godo about Gastrazyme.

NitroGreensOral contraceptives are another class of drugs that deplete nutrients. It is very common for families to take oral contraceptives and plan a pregnancy only to find they can’t conceive. I wonder if maybe it is the lack of depleted nutrients that causes the systemic or metabolic inflammatory problems that prevent conception. It’s very possible. The deficiencies caused by oral contraceptives are beta-carotene, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, folic acid, biotin, vitamin C, magnesium, zinc, tryptophan, and tyrosine.

SSRIs, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, are antidepressant medications that deplete B6, B12, folic acid, vitamin D and sodium. Even if SSRIs don’t directly deplete essential fatty acids we know that “people who are depressed can benefit from supplementing essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids can help with inflammation and depression.”

Anti-diabetic medication will reduce Coenzyme Q10, folic acid and B12.

Do you take antibiotics frequently? Antibiotics obviously cause a need for flora replacement, but did you know that “antibiotics will cause depletions in biotin, inositol, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 and vitamin K?

The drugs I’ve mentioned and many more create nutrient deficiencies. If your medication was not mentioned, you may find them on the Nutrient Drug Chart. You may be taking one or more prescription drugs. I recommend that you see Dr. Godo and get examined for factors that cause nutrient deficiencies.

If you’ve made the decision to take pharmaceuticals, especially long term, you should at least compensate by supplementing the nutrients that are depleted by these drugs. Foundationally you need to take a quality multivitamin/mineral, balanced essential fatty acids, and an active probiotic.

Talk to Dr. Godo about the medications you take. They can help you replenish vital nutrients necessary for living healthy. Knowing the truth about your prescription drugs is the first step. The next step is doing something about it.

How To Lower Your Body’s Toxic Overload

Toxic load is the cumulative effect of the pesticides, hydrogenated fats, sunscreens & mosquito repellents, deodorants, toothpastes, and any chemicals not readily processed & expelled.

We hear the word “toxic” used to describe everything from chemical waste and household mold to toxic relationships with toxic people. Toxic means “poisonous” with the potential for harm or even death. Just Google “oil spills in the United States” and you will be surprised at the year by year results. Many of them are NOT reported in the news and people don’t realize their toxic effects. The sun and heat on crude oil emits benzene as well as a plethora of other hydrocarbons.Godo Chiropractic Toxic Overload

Before we think we are safe because we don’t live near an oil or chemical spill, a recent study shows arctic birds are laden with chemical toxins. Who lives in a more pristine area than an arctic bird? Scientists are measuring the excrement of arctic birds and finding heavy metals and chemicals in their waste.

Let’s be truthful, there are toxins in the air from industry and pollutants invading us from all kinds of manufactured products. But rather than getting depressed, let’s consider TOXINS and what we can do. All of us carry a toxic load. Our toxic load is the cumulative effect of the tainted environment we live in, pesticides we eat in our food, hydrogenated fats we get from fast food restaurants, sunscreens and mosquito repellents we apply to our skin, our deodorants and toothpastes or any chemicals that our body is not able to readily process and expel.

The body stores toxins to protect us and then breaks them down as fast as possible. Usually it takes several steps to break down the fat soluble toxins because the body must attach a water soluble handle to it so it may be expelled without doing more harm to the cells and organs on the way out of the body. Two factors slow the process. One is that it takes certain co-factors to break down the toxins. If those co-factors which we need in tiny amounts are not present, the body will have to find another way to either break it down or store it until the necessary ingredients are available.

The second reason is that the toxins are coming in so fast that the body can’t break them down safely. Again in the best interest of your health the body stores them until the right environment and materials are available to dismantle them. So the term “total toxic load” refers to all the toxins your body in its wisdom has stored until such a time that it can dispose of them.

Remember, your body is working in your best interest and wants to clean house and function at top speed. Here’s the important point: we all have a “total toxic load.” As the toxic load increases so do the symptoms our body displays to signal that an overload is occurring and major changes are necessary. Stuff is breaking down. So let’s say our toxic load is 40%, due to our lifestyle and diet. Next, we breathe indoor air all winter long, our house has some mold or cat hair, maybe it goes to 60%, no big deal. We consume wheat or dairy or another food that we are mildly sensitive to. Our load goes up to 80% but now it is spring and this year the pollen is excessively high. Suddenly our toxic load rises to 90% and we experience symptoms.

Godo Chiropractic Toxic OverloadSo what does that mean? “Symptoms that we call headaches, brain fog, allergic reactions, fatigue, or even painful inflammation may be our body trying to unload some of its toxic load.”

From a naturopathic perspective, if we lower the entire toxic load by eating cleaner food, cutting out the dairy and gluten, get an air purifier or whatever we need to get rid of the mold, we can now go outside without experiencing what we would call seasonal allergies.

There are several strategies to lower your toxic load. You can start by eating a cleaner source of food, drinking purified water and consulting with your wellness clinician about antioxidants, alkalizing nutrients, multi vitamin/mineral support, essential fatty acids and probiotics. Dr. Godo recommends Pro-Multi Plus (athletic multi-vitamin/mineral with high b-complex), Bio-D Mulsion Forte (vitamin D liquid), and Optimal EFAs (essential fatty acids combination) for patients as the basic regimen to health and consistent detoxification. Ask Dr. Godo about the different types of detox programs and find the right one for your schedule and budget.

I’m always amazed at how many conditions disappear after lowering someone’s toxic load with a good detox. Everyone, anywhere will get toxins. It’s inevitable. Even the arctic birds do. So if you want optimal health, ask your clinician about lowering your “total toxic load.”

Reduce Breast Tenderness In Minutes

“This simple in-office procedure can dramatically reduce breast tenderness and pain in just minutes!”

For years I attended courses through the Nutritional Therapy Association about the different in-office tests doctors can use with their patients. One of the tests involved having the patient (the physicians were the patients in the class) do a self breast examination. If they felt tenderness above a certain pain threshold they were to come forward so we could demonstrate how to reduce or fix the problem.

Now keep in mind, they came forward expecting results, meaning the demonstration had to work. No matter how confident I appeared, I was always nervous whether the demonstration would work in front of the class. But it worked every time in a matter of minutes and continues to work in clinical practice. Let me tell you how the test is performed first before we go into why it works.Breast Tenderness

Participants rate their breast/muscle tenderness on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the most painful. The ones with the most pain, usually 5 or higher, are asked to taste different nutrients for 30 seconds and re-evaluate the tenderness, meaning if the pain had lessened.

Sometimes the pain would become greater, signaling the nutrient tested was not the right nutrient for that particular patient. You’ll see why in a moment. After tasting anywhere from 1 – 5 nutrients all participants discovered 1 or 2 nutrients that would dramatically reduce their breast pain.

I must confess it was always amazing to watch the body decide which substance would fix the problem. Sometimes it would be a predictable nutrient, but often the substance that would take the pain away was one I would never think to give. So why did it work? It worked because breast tissue is honeycombed with lymph nodes. When the lymph system gets sluggish and the fluid gets congested and can’t drain… the nodes become painful and often small cysts can develop. Where does the lymph fluid drain, the bowel. So if we open the drain the fluid will begin to move.

Taking the next step, one of the roles of the liver/gallbladder is to keep the bowel moving. So the nutrients we sampled first were things to optimize gallbladder function. If that didn’t seem to make a difference we tested nutrients for bowel health and cleansing. With some patients a prebiotics/probiotics blend would make the difference in pain or tenderness reduction. Sometimes it was a hydrochloric acid supplement taken to digest food more effectively.

Tasting nutrients to see if they affect certain functional issues is called neuro-lingual taste testing. Whenever we taste something, immediately nerve signals in our mouth transmit a signal to our brain about the substance. The brain identifies properties in the substance tasted and makes a lightning fast decision about what it will do to the body.

Dr. Godo's Health BlogThis type of testing is also used to see which nutrients increase range of motion, balance as well as reduce pain or trigger points. If the nutrient is tasted and it increases range of motion, balance or decreases pain, we ask the patient to take it therapeutically for 30 days and retest. This helps both doctor and patient understand when a nutrient is needed and when it is time to stop supplementation. Neuro-lingual taste testing uses the body to screen neurologically, nutrients that may have the greatest therapeutic value.

The point for this newsletter on breast tenderness is that neuro-lingual taste testing can have rapid responses for many situations and can help Dr. Godo assess which foods or nutrients can benefit you. There are so many nutrients to choose from, if we can individualize which one works for a specific patient it dramatically increases the effectiveness of their treatment. Yes, you may have to go in for multiple visits while you peel away the causes of the problem with repeat testing, but this kind of individualized detective work can be life changing for those who have chronic conditions.

Breast tenderness is common with many women and muscle tenderness in men. You’ll be surprised how discerning this testing can be for breast/muscle tenderness and other conditions such as low energy, stiff joints, limited flexibility and movement, headaches, digestive disorders, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and others.

Ask Dr. Godo about neuro-lingual taste testing especially for breast tenderness. It works in just minutes; you’ll be impressed.
